My journey with yoga began over twenty years ago at a trauma center for teens. I was in group therapy to begin processing my childhood. One day, my therapist invited a trauma-informed yoga therapist to visit with us.
Before then, I'd never even heard of yoga. This was back in 2004, so it wasn't quite as mainstream as it is now. Anyway, while we did the sequence, I found myself activated by a pose. In that moment, I learned how much the body keeps hold of the past.
Since then, I've turned to yoga in times of growth and in times of need. Finally, in 2024, it finally hit me that in this chaotic world, people are disconnected from their bodies, more than ever before.
I'd also begun to understand that I coexist with hypermobility. I almost wrote "suffer," because there is a lot of suffering when it comes to hypermobility. But yoga has helped me learn how to coexist with the pain/limitations, learn about the human body, and discover the lack of information out there surrounding hypermobility.
Normally a dedicated desk jockey, building websites as my other passion, I've learned how much people need to know about hypermobility.
So here I am, eagerly awaiting the connections our lovely Universe will provide. If you feel moved to reach out, even to say hi, please do so!
